The Georgia Boys

by Wayne Shrubsall

This tune has many names. Seneca Square Dance, The Federal Hornpipe, Got a Little Home to Go To, Higher Up the Monkey Climbs, John Hoban's Polka, Running from the Federals, Shelby's Mules, and Waiting for the Federals. By any name it's a great tune on both clawhammer and three finger banjo.

[Editor's note: Alan Munde's three finger version will be featured in the next issue of BanjoSessions®. The CD of three finger and clawhammer banjo duets and tab books can be found at http://www.AlanMunde.com or from Alan at P.O. Box 8240, Levelland TX 79338]
